HERNE HILL HOUSE
This Victorian terrace house is located in the Poets Corner conservation area in Herne Hill.
The clients were keen to explore options for a rear extension, to expand and consolidate the living, kitchen and dining areas.
Four initial design options.
Incorporating a single storey infill extension, with varying levels of intervention into existing outrigger and connection to rear garden.
The design evolved to include a two storey infill extension, with the kitchen accommodated on the ground floor.
A double height void situated against the new rear wall provides a physical connection between the two floors of living space.
